Who We Are

The Robot Rodeo Signature Event is hosted by DFW Robotics Alliance, a non-profit organization based in Allen, Texas. The organization was founded in 2025 by parents whose students are current or former members of the Lovejoy (team 1082) VEX Robotics program, and who have hosted several well-regarded local qualifying events as well as a Region Championship at Lovejoy High School.

In addition to an experienced planning committee, the organization has an Advisory Board made up of experienced VEX Event Partners who also serve as Coaches for some of the area’s top programs.

Advantages of Robotics

Students learn the basics of both hardware and software engineering, as well as soft skills such as communication, teamwork, time management and accountability. Competition frameworks teach students to operate in situations that closely mimic the workforce, and provide a foundation for students to move into STEM fields for higher education.

About The Competition

The competition at a Signature Event is fierce. Eighty teams will compete in eight qualification matches over the course of the two-day event. Then, they are seeded and ranked in preparation for the elimination rounds. There, they compete to become Tournament Champions and qualify for Robotics Education & Competition Foundation’s (RECF) flagship event, the VEX Robotics World Championship.

While teams are competing in matches, they are also being interviewed by judges who have reviewed the teams’ engineering notebooks and will select recipients of coveted judged awards like Excellence, which also qualifies the recipient for Worlds.
